Birjand, Iran (January 12, 2024) - Birjand University and the University of Nigeria have signed an agreement to boost scientific cooperation in a variety of areas, including research, education, and technology.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Ahmad Lamie-Giyo, the president of Birjand University, and Prof. Charles Arizechukwu Igwe, the president of the University of Nigeria. The University of Nigeria is one of the leading universities in Nigeria, with a student body of nearly 40,000.

“This agreement is a significant step forward in our efforts to expand international scientific cooperation,” said Dr. Lamie-Giyo. “We are committed to working with our partners around the world to advance knowledge and innovation.”

According to Dr. Hossein Novidinia, the director of International Scientific Collaboration of the University of Birjand, the university has been authorized to establish a center for teaching Persian to non-native speakers. This will help the university to attract students from countries around the world, including Africa.

The agreement between Birjand University and the University of Nigeria covers a wide range of areas, including:

  • Joint research projects
  • Student and faculty exchanges
  • Joint conferences and workshops
  • Collaborative educational programs

The agreement is expected to lead to increased collaboration between the two universities in a variety of fields, including engineering, science, and technology.
