University of Birjand Faculty Member Continues Presence in World’s Top 2% Scientists List for 2026
Dr. Mohammad Mossinaei, a faculty member of the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Birjand, has once again been included in the list of the world’s top 2% scientists for 2026, continuing his multi-year presence in this prestigious international ranking.
According to the University of Birjand Public Relations Office, this achievement reflects Dr. Mossinaei’s sustained scientific and research activities and his ongoing contribution to the international scientific community.
Dr. Marzieh Saghebjoo, Vice-President for Research, Technology and Innovation at the University of Birjand, congratulated Dr. Mossinaei on this accomplishment. She explained that the World’s Top 2% Scientists list is compiled in collaboration with Stanford University based on citation data from the Scopus database. In this evaluation, researchers’ performance is assessed using a set of scientometric indicators, and the number of citations received by publications is not the sole determining factor.
She added that indicators such as the H-index and the researcher’s contribution to co-authored scientific works, along with other related criteria, are considered in calculating the composite c-score. This approach enables a more comprehensive evaluation of researchers’ scientific performance and impact.
The University of Birjand Public Relations Office congratulates Dr. Mohammad Mossinaei, the academic community, and the entire university family on this valuable achievement. While honoring his scientific efforts and accomplishments, the university wishes him continued success in research and knowledge creation, and further brilliance for the University of Birjand on national and international scientific stages.
