The Legal Affairs Office at University of Birjand was established to provide legal services aimed at ensuring the proper implementation of laws and regulations within the university. It manages the university’s legal relationships with external parties in a way that protects public assets and the university’s interests.
Duties:
- Taking necessary measures and decisions for appropriate legal actions to safeguard the university’s interests.
- Initiating and pursuing criminal and civil lawsuits against individuals and entities, as well as defending the university’s rights in legal cases filed for or against it.
- Handling lawsuits arising from university contracts against individuals and entities.
- Defending the university’s rights and interests in lawsuits filed against it in administrative courts.
- Representing the university in all legal matters and acting as its legal representative in judicial, administrative, and government organizations.
- Providing legal opinions, reviewing, and overseeing contracts between the university and individuals or organizations.
- Defending the university’s interests in disputes handled by labor and social affairs departments, municipal commissions, and other relevant authorities.
- Collaborating with relevant units in drafting legal bills, resolutions, and regulations needed by the university.
- Ensuring consistency in legal positions across the university.
- Participating in drafting lease and rental agreements for real estate.
- Filing and pursuing lawsuits related to real estate to protect the university’s interests.
- Defending the university’s rights against claims related to properties.
- Following up on judicial orders and execution proceedings through various official institutions.
- Providing legal opinions on all commitments made for or against the university and advising officials to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Reviewing and taking legal measures to enforce obligations of university contractors as per ministry and university directives.
- Offering legal guidance and consulting to colleagues and university units on legal, judicial, and criminal matters.
- Handling various formalities such as notarized commitments, property collateral, mortgage arrangements, lien release, and contract enforcement.
- Managing other assigned legal responsibilities.
