Department of English Language
The English Language Department at University of Birjand was established in October 1997 with five faculty members, offering courses in General English and Pre-requisite English. In October 2003, the English Translation program was launched with seven faculty members. In October 2008, the master’s program in General Linguistics was initiated, admitting seven students. From October 2009, the English Translation program at the master’s level and the English Language and Literature program at the undergraduate level were also established. The department is also responsible for teaching General English courses across the entire university.
